A Learning Mind Institute is an educational nonprofit based in Provo, Utah, working online with people across the country.
Mission
We create and deliver educational programs that help people build healthy behaviors, sound life and financial skills, strong character, and a spirit of service — so individuals and communities can become more capable, self-reliant, and engaged.
Vision
Capable, connected, and contributing communities — where people support one another, take responsibility for their own growth, and steward their resources, relationships, and opportunities well.
How we work
There is a kind of help that leaves people needing more of it. We are deliberately doing something else. We are not a charity that distributes resources; we are an educational organization that builds capability, on the assumption that the person on the other side of the screen is a competent adult dealing with something hard.
In practice that means three commitments. Everything we publish is specific enough to act on. Nothing is written down to the reader. And we say plainly when something is outside what we do — most importantly with mental health, where we teach people to recognize and understand what is happening, and to find real care, but we are not clinicians and we never pretend otherwise.

- Capability Not Dependency. The goal is that you need us less over time, not more.
- Integrity. We say what is true, including when it is inconvenient for us.
- Stewardship. Of money, attention, relationships, and trust.
- Service. Capability is worth most when it is turned outward.
- Excellence. Free does not mean careless.
Where we are
The organization is young and we would rather be straightforward about that than dress it up. A Learning Mind Institute is a Utah nonprofit corporation. Our application for federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is pending. We are building the first programs now, and we have not yet served learners at scale — so you will not find impact statistics on this site, because we do not have any yet. When we do, they will be real.
